RUBY DELA ROSA
KOMBATAN KALIBO, PHILIPPINES - PORI, FINLAND
I am Ruby Dela Rosa and I'm ranking 6th level in Kombatan. I'm a proud student of FMA Kombatan Kalibo Philippines – Pori Finland. My instructor is no other than Senior Master Tomi Harell.
I love all of the techniques in Kombatan, but most favorites are Espada y Daga, Palit-Palit and Solo baston Freestyle.
One of my unforgettable memories was around 2009 and 2010 when I was training under the tutelage of GGM in his school in Quiapo. Guro Roger Maur also plays a vital role in my learning..
I used to work part time as a freelance model and actress that time. It was during my audition for their movie "the last master" when Director Tatay Dante Javier introduce to me GGM around 2008, in Oroquieta bakers fair.
As a full-time sales manager for auction automobiles, I am sometimes visited by GGM and Tatay Dante in my work place to chat and look for cars. They often bring me lechon manok and pancit there. GGM was very funny and a low profile kind of person. I even didn't think that he was really well-known in FMA world. Until I join them in Bacolod as I became part of their movies. Besides from acting, I became their photographer too! That's the time when I started to enjoy training and learning the art of Arnis, and Kombatan became a part of my life indefinitely. Right after Bacolod, I started my training with GGM school in Quiapo. He taught me twirling and how to use Sai. Then Guro Maur teach me Arnis double baston, all system and disarming, while GGM and tatay Dante watched us. But then since GGM died I stop to do training..
And last 2015 because of the inspirations and motivations of My Master Tomi Harell I started doing my Kombatan training and Mano Mano. Now I have trained and learned more, to my beloved school at FMA Pori Finland.
My Motto: life is too short to.. Wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the one's who don't. And believe that everything's happens for a reason. If you get a chance take it,
if it's changes your life, let it.
